台灣《Digitimes (電子時報)》周三 (20 日) 引述上游供應鏈消息報導，蘋果 (Apple)(AAPL-US) 將推出的新版智慧手機──即 iPhone 5S，將不會有重大升級，而只會是現有 iPhone 5 的小幅加強版，包括處理器及攝影機升級。

爆料人士表示，上述消息根據他們取得的最新規格資料。據悉 iPhone 5S 將主打更高階的處理器，以及解析度更高的相機模組。

消息人士並透露，iPhone 5S 的零件將在 5 月底開始出貨。若進展順利，手機的製造商應該能夠在 1-2 周後出貨至零售通路，好讓 iPhone 5S 準備好在今年第三季開賣。

此外消息人士補充，有傳言指出，蘋果同時也計畫推出採用塑膠外殼的 iPhone，以擴大在全球智慧手機市場的占有率。
